VRNS approved the renaming of Volgograd to Stalingrad

On February 5, 2013, the World Russian People's Council approved renaming of Volgograd to Stalingrad in the days of memorable dates.

"Regardless of the assessment of Stalin's personality, Stalingrad became a symbol of our military art and a symbol of the highest courage, at the same time as Thermopylae and Salamis. It is Stalingrad, and not Volgograd, is known to the peoples of the planet as a turning point in the fight against fascism,” says the VRNS statement .

“In Stalingrad, the concept of innate inequality of people, dividing humanity into higher and lower races, to a chosen minority and doomed majority. This arrogant concept underlay the entire colonial expansion of Western civilization ,” the participants of the Council believe.

The authors of the statement are sure that “the victory at Stalingrad is stronghold in the preservation of our national identity, asserting ideals of human dignity and brotherhood—those ideals which the Russian people have been divided over the centuries, which are closely related with the good news of Christianity .
