About 300 people were detained during a search in a mosque in St. Petersburg

February 8, 2013 St. Petersburg Center "E" together with the regional department of the FSB and special forces carried out at the Apraksin Dvor clothing market, where the Muslim prayer room, a special operation to detain adherents of radical Islamic currents. The operation was carried out in the framework of criminal cases on Part 2 Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for the implementation terrorist activities using the media), Part 1 of Art. 282 UK RF (inciting hatred or enmity).

The security forces arrived during the service, but did not attend it interrupt. During the operation, 271 people were detained, including citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Egypt, people from the North Caucasus. 10 of them the next day were deported.

In addition, searches were carried out in several apartments in St. Petersburg. Among the detainees is Murat Sarbashev, suspected of posting extremist publications on the Internet.
