On February 12, 2013, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug was informed that a sentence had been passed against a resident of the Vologda Region, living in the village of Katunino, Primorsky District, Arkhangelsk Region.
He was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for the implementation of extremist activities, committed using the media) and part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity committed in public).
The investigation and the court found that from April to May 2012, the user posted xenophobic photographs, drawings, statements and a film on the VKontakte website, "which contain negative emotional assessments and negative attitudes towards a number of ethnic, religious and racial groups ."
By a court verdict, he was sentenced to 200 hours of compulsory work.
