Opposition website banned in Ingushetia

April 4, 2013 Magas district the court of the Republic of Ingushetia recognized the site "Ingushetiyaru.org" as extremist, which is the next successor banned of the Ingushetia.ru website in 2008. The previous successor to Ingushetia.ru, Ingushetia.org, was banned in 2010.

The prosecutor's office reports that website "Ingushetiyaru.org" "repeatedly identified information materials with signs of extremism", "public statements were identified, obviously false accusations against a person holding a public office in a constituent entity of the Russian Federation" .

The text did indeed contain a whole set of grave accusations against the head of Republic of Yunus-Bek Yevkurov (including, for example, in the "genocide of the Ingush people"), whose unsubstantiated nomination falls under the definition of extremist activity in the legislation. After the ban, it was not removed from the site.

However, the recognition of the entire site as extremist due to one material seems to us unjustified, from our point of view, it should rather seek the removal or blocking of prohibited text. No other The prosecutor's office did not publish specific claims against the resource. How do we the site's ban appears to be due mainly to its oppositional orientation.

It should also be noted that in November 2012, the Magas District Court banned two more local opposition websites, Ingushetia Online and angusht.com, for no apparent reason.
