On June 5, 2013, it became known that the imam of the Spiritual Department of Muslims of the Asian part of Russia Ilkhom Merazhov, sentenced under part 1 of Art. 1 article 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization) by the year suspended sentence, filed an appeal against the verdict court. The second condemned imam - Kamil Odilov - and his defense are also preparing complaint.
Meanwhile, in the world court of the Oktyabrsky district of Novosibirsk, no confirmed receipt of Merazhov's complaint.
Recall that Merazhov and Odilov were accused of organized the activities of a religious association in Novosibirsk "Nurcular", knowing that it is banned as extremist. the only the reason for the persecution of Merazhov and Odilov was the fact that they studied Nursi books. We do not consider it lawful either to ban Said Nursi's books or to association "Nurcular", which in Russia did not exist at all: there were only individual followers of the teachings of Nursi, who are now faced with unreasonable persecution.
On July 1, 2013, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Novosibirsk began considering the appeals of Merazhov and Odilov.
