On June 7, 2013, two activists were detained in Yaroslavl local branch of the Civic Platform party, who held a picket near the Yaroslavl Glavny railway station, during which leaflets were handed out with the party program.
The detainees were escorted to the Central Police Department, where they seized 324 copies of a leaflet with the official program "Civil platform". The police explained their actions by the need to identify violations legislation on extremism.
According to the representatives of the party, the text of the leaflet was published on website of the Civic Platform, and before that it was approved and registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
Recall that the common practice of seizing law enforcement agencies of circulation or large quantities of printed materials for testing "for extremism" is illegal. For verification a few copies are sufficient.
On June 12, 2013, it became known what exactly caused doubts among the Yaroslavl policemen: drawings by Andrey Bilzho, which illustrated the material, and captions to them were suspected of "extremism".
