Anti-migrant raids - mass fights

On the evening of June 28 in Moscow, another “anti-migrant raid” escalated into a mass brawl, as a result of which 60 people were detained by police officers. Activists of the “Shield of Moscow” movement burst into the building on Fabricius Street, building 36, building 1, threatening with traumatic weapons and using obscene language, and drove the visitors from Central Asia who were in the house out into the street.

This is not the first year that such events have been held in Moscow. Raids on the places of residence of labor migrants are carried out by several far-right organizations: “Quiet Center” (Elena and Roman Tkach), “Bright Rus'” (Igor Mangushev and Ivan Krylov), “Moscow Defense League” (Daniil Konstantinov), activists of the “Russians” association (former DPNI). Journalists and public organizations have already noted the inadmissibility of such actions as illegal and degrading to human dignity. But only a raid carried out by the Moscow Shield movement, formed at the end of 2012, led by Alexey Khudyakov, ended in a serious conflict.

Khudyakov himself is an ultra-right fan of the Lokomotiv football club, an activist of the Young Russia movement, and a participant in the “anti-drug” raids of the Youth Anti-Drug Special Forces (MAS).

The latter organization sometimes engaged in “peaceful” activities in the form of exhibitions and seminars for a healthy lifestyle, but is better known for numerous pogroms with shooting from traumatic weapons, smashing cars and breaking the doors of points selling smoking mixtures (“spice”). At the same time, the leaders of the MAS did not hide their affiliation with the pro-Kremlin movement “Young Russia,” and the organization enjoyed support from the Federal Drug Control Service and other government agencies.

On June 12 of this year, it was announced that the activities of the Youth Anti-Drug Special Forces would cease, but on June 17 it was replaced by the M.A.S. movement. 2.0”, among whose activists Alexey Khudyakov again appears.

Despite the fact that on the “Moscow Shield” page there are no direct indications of belonging to “Young Russia”, just as there are no links to the “Moscow Shield” on the “Rumola” page, it should be noted that Khudyakov is not the last person in the pro-Kremlin movement. He, together with the current leader Anton Demidov, as well as the former leader of the Young Russia movement and former State Duma deputy Maxim Mishchenko, headed the election commission for the election of the chairman of the student council of MSTU. Bauman in 2009. Together with Demidov and Valery Zaborovsky (head of MAS, one of the leaders of Rumola), in 2010 he studied “drug addiction prevention”. Both lists contain about 20 names, that is, these are not “people from the street.” And in the “Shield” group Demidov and Zaborovsky again appear.

It is not clear what caused the mass brawl in the dormitory of migrant workers: far-right fan habits, the violent experience of the “anti-drug special forces” or the exhausted patience of visitors from Central Asia. But it cannot be ruled out that Khudyakov and his team are counting on the cover of “friends” associated with the authorities.
