July 2, 2013 year in Perm, public hearings were held on the construction of a synagogue on Razgulay (Klimenko St., 26 a-b).
The Jewish community "Chabad Lubavitch" intends to build a four-story building on a land plot of 0.5 hectares allocated to the community by the administration, and on the adjacent him a plot of 0.7 hectares, which the community rents. The building - apart from the synagogue - will house educational center, kosher shop, restaurant and mikveh.
The head of the regional security center opposed the construction monuments. In his opinion, a high-rise building " will violate a historically established line of cultural centers and historical dominants, general view of the city center . One of the members of the Land Use Commission and development pointed out that the land was allocated to the community not for construction, but for other purposes and until the community manages to change the zoning this territory. Local residents also opposed the construction of a synagogue in center of the city, advising to move the construction to the Gamovo area or to Banna grief.
