Fine for images on the VKontakte network

On July 3, 2013, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Arkhangelsk Region announced that administrative liability for public demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia involved three residents of the city Mirny - ZATO in the Arkhangelsk region at the Plesetsk cosmodrome.

In three cases, young people posted in the social network "VKontakte" in open access on their pages images of a swasika, a Prussian eagle, a greeting to the form of an upraised hand.

Claims were filed with the court statements of obligation to remove image data from the pages. Claims The demands of the prosecutor were fulfilled by the defendants voluntarily.

Police authorities Cases have been initiated against users of VKontakte under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (propaganda and public demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia), according to the results of consideration which the perpetrators were brought to administrative responsibility in in the form of a fine of 1,000 rubles each.
