On July 19, 2013, the Kem City Court of the Republic of Karelia passed a verdict against I.V. Glazychev (19 years old), accused of setting fire to a chapel in Kemi and a car.
On April 2, 2013, with a red marker, I. Glazychev painted the inscriptions “666” and “Satan was here” on the door of a wooden chapel in Kemi, and then set the chapel on fire. On the same day, he set fire to a car, causing damage to the owner in the amount of 97 thousand rubles.
The court recognized I.V. Glazychev guilty under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism), part 3 of Art. 30 and part 2 art. 167 of the Criminal Code (attempted intentional destruction of property by arson), part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code (deliberate damage to someone else’s property by arson) and sentenced him to a sentence of 2 years 6 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years 6 months. In addition, the court satisfied the car owner’s claim to recover from the convicted person the entire amount of damage caused.
