Serbia has suspended the extradition of the leader of the "Russian Image" to Russia

On July 24, 2013, the Supreme Court of Serbia granted an appeal against the decision to extradite one of the founders of the Russian Image movement, Ilya Goryachev (born 1982), who was detained in May 2013 on Serbian territory at the request of Moscow in connection with suspicions of committing criminal crimes.

According to the lawyer, the extradition decision was made in the absence of Goryachev himself and his lawyer, only on the basis of materials provided by the Russian side. The defense managed to prove the illegality of these circumstances, Russia will have to provide a new package of documents to the court of first instance.

Recall that Goryachev was put on the international wanted list as part of the investigation of a criminal case against the organizers and members of the BORN extremist community. Goryachev is accused of committing crimes, provided h. 1 Article. 282.1, part 1 of Art. 209, p.p. "a", "g", "z" and "l" Part 2 Art. 105, part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code (organization of an extremist community, gang building, murder, arms trafficking). He is suspected of involvement in the murders of Moscow City Court Judge Eduard Chuvashov, lawyer Stanislav Markelov, leaders of the so-called anti-fascist movements of Fyodor Filatov, Ilya Dzhaparidze and Ivan Khutorsky, world champion in Thai boxing Muslim Abdullayev, citizens Salakhedin Azizov, Rasul Khalilov, Soso Khachikyan, assassination attempts the murder of a citizen Ramazan Nurichuev and an employee of the internal cases of Gagik Benyaminyan.

The suspect denies all charges. Goryachev's defense intends to get Serbian justice to refuse extradition, since, according to lawyers, there are no real grounds for his extradition, and in the materials received from Moscow there is no convincing evidence that Goryachev committed the crimes of which he is suspected.
