Airborne Forces Day 2013 in Russia

On the evening of August 2 in Samara , at the intersection of the streets of the Soviet Army and Gagarin, several paratroopers who were celebrating the day of the Airborne Forces beat up visitors from Central Asia. The paratroopers drove up to a public transport stop by car and attacked the visitors. After the beating, the airborne troops got into the car and fled the scene. At the food market at the intersection Fadeeva and Novo-Vokzalnaya streets paratroopers attacked sellers. Several people were beaten, and the goods on the shelves were scattered.

On August 2, LGBT activists also suffered from attacks by paratroopers. In St. Petersburg, an attack on LGBT activist Kirill took place on Palace Square Kalugin, who held a single picket there. The police stood up for the picketer, as a result, a fight broke out between the paratroopers and the riot police. Kalugin and several participants in the fight were detained.
