Attack on Chinese citizens in Chelyabinsk

At the end of July 2013, twice in the village of Sagausty in the Sosnovsky district of Chelyabinsk, there were two attacks by unknown persons in masks on greenhouses where Chinese citizens work.

Unidentified persons in masks fired from traumatic pistols, and from their actions injured 5 people.

After the first attack, three foreign workers went to the doctors, including a 25-year-old worker with an eye injury. One was hospitalized. According to the citizens of China, there were four attackers, and they were aiming at the heads.

The shooters fled the scene.

At first there was an assumption that a raid on the Sosnovka greenhouses could organize competitors from the neighboring Krasnoarmeisky district. However the next night, the residents of the area were also affected.

On August 7, the Chelyabinsk special services discussed the investigation of two criminal cases at an interdepartmental meeting. Employees of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutors of the Sosnovsky and Krasnoarmeisky districts joined in solving the problem. The prosecutor of the Chelyabinsk region said that he did not rule out "interethnic and interreligious hatred ."

" Based on the results of the meeting, a decision was made that provides for specific measures to prevent escalation of tension, prevent and suppress illegal acts and other violations. It is planned to improve preventive work aimed at preventing interethnic and interreligious hatred," the prosecutor's office said .
