Residents of Kuzminki oppose the construction of an Orthodox church

At the end of August 2013, it became known that the residents Moscow microdistrict Kuzminki oppose the construction of an Orthodox church at the intersection of Yunykh Lenintsev and Marshal Chuikov streets.

The reason for the dissatisfaction of the residents was that the construction of a modular temple will require cutting down part of the square. In addition, in the vicinity of this place already there are 5 temples, the nearest of which is 400 m.

Opponents of the construction argue that public hearings at which the decision to build the temple was approved were held with violations, they were attended by residents of other districts - parishioners of the rector future temple.

On August 24, 2013, a rally was held during which The audience spoke out against the construction.

On August 31 another rally took place. Participants - about 400 people - held posters: "No construction in the natural complex", "We are building a temple - law on the side?”, “No construction in the park”, etc.

Under a resolution demanding that no construction be allowed The temple was signed by 350 people.

During the rally, a bus arrived with 20 Orthodox activists, but due to the large number of protesters and the police could not set up a provocation.
