Attempt to disrupt worship services of Jehovah's Witnesses in Novy Urengoy

On August 7, 2013, police and prosecutors arrived for the service of Jehovah's Witnesses in Novy Urengoy. They announced that they had information about the holding of a religious meeting, which may be distributed extremist literature.

Believers pointed out to the arrivals the illegality of the disruption divine services.

Law enforcement officials asked for several copies of books for review, rewrote the passport data of two of present and, inviting them to come to the department the next day, left room.
