Moscow city defenders are outraged by the demolition of a historical building for the construction of a monastery hotel

On September 11, 2013, it became known that the Intercession Monastery in Moscow began demolishing the 19th century building. on Abelmanovskaya street. It is planned to build a monastery hotel on the site of the demolished building.

Representatives of the public coalition “In Defense of Old Moscow” stated that the building was transferred to the monastery for indefinite use, and the owner is the city. The demolition of the historic building was not agreed upon by the owner.

Previously, the monastery had already tried to demolish this building, but then city defenders prevented it.
