The Society for Krishna Consciousness asks the Mayor of Moscow reconsider the decision to terminate the lease of land for construction temple.
On September 18, 2013 it became known that on August 16, 2013 the management Societies for Krishna Consciousness appealed to Sergei Sobyanin with a request to cancel the decision of the Moscow government to terminate the lease of a plot in the village Vereskina, where construction was planned Hindu temple.
Solution on termination of the contract was adopted on April 4, 2013. Plot in Vereskina was allocated to the community instead of a plot on Leningradsky Prospekt, where, after demolition of the temple on Begovaya, a Hindu temple was located. By court order, the community must quickly vacate the premises on Leningradsky Prospekt, where until services are still being held.
" The destruction of the existing temple and depriving us of the opportunity to build a new temple will lead to the cessation of functioning of an official religious organization, significant losses, violation of the rights and interests of believers and the rights of citizens (religious community) to freedom of religion, which implies the administration of a religious cult , ”the text of the official letter says mayor of Moscow.
Representatives communities mention in the text that more than 50 thousand signatures of citizens have already been collected in defense of the Hindu temple.
