Criminal case of attack on a teenager in St. Petersburg

On October 1, 2013, a criminal case was initiated in St. Petersburg on hooliganism motivated by ethnic hatred and enmity against two visiting teenagers who beat a St. Petersburg schoolboy and filmed it on video.

According to investigators, on September 24, near one of the houses on Leni Golikov Street, a 15-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, a student of a correctional school, and a 16-year-old native of Dagestan stopped a 14-year-old eighth-grader they did not know, who was returning home from school and beat him, defiantly humiliated and removed it's on the video. The attack was motivated by national hatred and enmity.

The criminal case was initiated under part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, motivated by national hatred and enmity).

On October 9, 2013, the State Investigation Department for St. Petersburg announced that the teenagers were charged with committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint has been chosen against the accused.
