September 21, 2013 it became known that Moscow Hare Krishnas turned to Vladimir Putin with a request to deal with the situation around construction of a Vishnu temple in the Moscow region.
They remind that 70 million rubles were collected for the construction of the temple, however, the Moscow authorities did not give permission for the construction, terminating land lease in April 2013. At the same time, according to the decision of the court, the community should also vacate the premises on Leningradsky Prospekt, where at present services are held.
Hare Krishnas remind the President that they live, work and study in Russia 15 thousand Indians. They also intend to appeal to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
