In mid-October 2013, another rioter, a previously convicted friend of the murdered man, 23-year-old Artem Novikov, was arrested in Zapadnoye Biryulyovo.
On October 15, 2013, the Tverskoy Court placed 23-year-old Artem Novikov under arrest, who is a suspect in a criminal case of group hooliganism committed on October 13 during the events in Zapadnoye Biryulyovo.
Novikov was detained during a people's gathering on October 13. The details of the detention are unknown, but there are several photos on the VKontakte page, judging by which, the young man managed to visit a vegetable warehouse and take part in a brawl with riot police. In the video of the attack on the vegetable warehouse, Novikov appears in the frame at the very beginning. The video shows young people smashing Pokrovskaya in some detail, but the arrested person is not among them.
According to a relative of Novikov, in addition to hooliganism, they want to accuse him under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
Prior to his arrest, Novikov worked as a storekeeper in a large firm on Varshavskoe Shosse. Investigators seized two laptops, flash cards, SD memory cards and a SIM card for a mobile phone from the detainee's apartment. The arrested person will remain in custody until December 13.
Novikov was convicted three times for robbery (Article 161 of the Criminal Code), extortion (Article 163 of the Criminal Code) and fraud (Article 159 of the Criminal Code). Twice he received a suspended sentence, and in 2008 he was sentenced to three years in a penal colony. One of Novikov's convictions has not been cancelled.
Novikov appeared in the criminal case on the embezzlement on November 23, 2005 of property in the amount of 4,700 rubles. As a minor, in August 2006 he took away a Sony Ericsson phone from a minor. In November of the same year, he was mentioned in connection with a similar case of stealing a Motorola phone from a minor named Lovchak. In January 2008, Novikov stole a phone from a certain Chirkov, for which he was convicted.
Recall that in the case of hooliganism in Biryulyovo are one Muscovite and one resident of the Moscow region.
