The prosecutor's office of the Murmansk region demands that videos from the VKontakte network be recognized as extremist

In October 2013, the prosecutor's office of the Murmansk region filed an application with the court to recognize as extremist five videos found on the VKontakte social network.

The prosecutor's office of the region, following the results of consideration of the materials submitted by the internal affairs bodies, sent an application to the Pechenga district court for the recognition of five videos posted on the Internet as extremist materials.

Videos " promoting extremism" were posted by an Internet user on his personal page on the VKontakte social network. This user was previously found guilty by the court under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (commission of actions aimed at inciting hatred, enmity, as well as humiliating the dignity of a person and a group of persons on the basis of race, nationality, language, origin and membership in a social group, committed using the media).

Unfortunately, it is not clear from the report of the prosecutor's office what kind of case they are talking about. Recall that earlier it was reported that in the city of Kola, Murmansk region, the court satisfied the claim of the prosecutor's office and recognized several videos as extremist.

for their publication . was convicted Local resident Ivan Novikov
