Sentenced for hate-motivated vandalism

In November 2013, a 25-year-old local resident was convicted of xenophobic vandalism in Segezha (Republic of Karelia).

In November 2013, the Segezha City Court delivered a verdict in a criminal case against a 25-year-old resident of Segezha, accused under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism motivated by racial, national hatred and enmity).

Recall that in November 2011, the defendant drew images of the Nazi swastika with a balloon and wrote xenophobic appeals on two buildings on the street. Antikainen.

At the time of sentencing, the defendant was already serving a prison sentence for crimes against property.

The court appointed him a summary sentence of imprisonment for a period of 3 years 8 months with restriction of freedom for a period of 6 months to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
