Leader of "Russian Image" extradited to Russia

November 8, 2013 extradited to Russia one of the founders of the movement "Russian image" Ilya Goryachev (born 1982), detained in May 2013 in Serbia Moscow's request in connection with suspicions of committing criminal offenses.

Recall that Goryachev was announced in international search within the framework of the investigation of a criminal case against organizers and members of the extremist community "BORN". Goryachev is charged under Part 1 of Art. 282.1, part 1 of Art. 209, p.p. "a", "g", "h" and "l" part 2 of Art. 105, part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code (organization of an extremist community, creation of a gang, murder, illegal arms trafficking). He was put on the international wanted list and at the request of the investigation and arrested in absentia by the court. In addition, the investigators confirmed to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) their intention to demand the extradition of Goryachev to the Russian Federation in case of his detention in the territory of another state. On November 8, Goryachev was finally extradited.

The investigation accuses Goryachev of committing murders of lawyer Stanislav Markelov, anti-fascists Fyodor Filatov and Ilya Dzhaparidze, as well as Rasul Khalilov and Salakhedin Azizov as part of BORN.

The investigation did not confirm the involvement of Goryachev personally in the murder of Judge Eduard Chuvashov, however, the investigation established the involvement of other members of the BORN in this crime.

Operational support in this criminal case is provided by the FSB of Russia.

On December 26, 2013, the Basmanny Court of Moscow extended the detention of Ilya Goryachev until April 8, having granted the request of the investigation. According to the judge, a softer preventive measure against Goryachev impossible, since he previously hid in Serbia, and can continue to do so, or to put pressure on witnesses.
