Residents of Penza oppose the transfer of school classrooms to the diocese

The public of Penza opposes the possible transfer of school premises to the Penza diocese.

November 26, 2013 it became known that the authorities of Penza intend to transfer for free use The diocese is part of the premises of eight schools (No. 42, 46, 30, 60, 7, 17, 65, 19). Probably, we are talking about the transfer of several classrooms in each of the schools: their area is indicated - from 48 sq.m in school No. 7 to 213.6 sq.m. m in gymnasium No. 42.

November 27, 2013 on the site “Demokrator.ru” a collection of signatures was organized against this solutions. Members of the public, the authors of the text, are convinced that the transfer of school classrooms diocese violates the secular nature of the Russian state and the law on education, and can also lead to an aggravation of interethnic and interreligious conflicts. The protest letter was signed by 132 people (of whom four supported the position of the authorities, 128 - the position of the public).
