The Chelyabinsk public is again protesting against the transfer of the organ to a new premises and the release of the former Organ Hall building for church needs.
At the beginning of December 2013, an initiative group of defenders of the Chelyabinsk Organ Hall again appealed to the public. The collection of signatures has begun for an appeal to Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Medinsky, as well as to the primates of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church and the Ecumenical Patriarch with a demand to stop the dismantling of the organ stored in the church building, to hold a referendum and cancel the decision to transfer the building to the diocese.
The petition was signed by about 2 thousand people.
Let us recall that the mayor of Chelyabinsk announced his intention to transfer the building of the Chelyabinsk Organ Hall, which houses the specified musical instrument, to the Russian Orthodox Church in April 2010. In April 2011, the local bishop became the rector of the temple in which the organ hall was located. Despite numerous public protests , the Chelyabinsk authorities decided to move the organ to a new premises.
