Statistics on dioceses, 2013

At the end of 2013, annual meetings were held in most of the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, where statistical data were announced.

On December 20, 2013, speaking at a diocesan meeting in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill announced the statistics. According to him, as of December 2013, there are 958 churches and chapels in Moscow, of which 278 are parish churches, 164 are attached to secular institutions, 44 monastery churches, and 10 monastery courtyards. Divine services are held regularly and there are communities at 473 churches. Within the boundaries of Moscow, there are 7 male and 6 female monasteries.

In total, 31 monasteries are subordinate to the patriarch: 15 men's and 16 women's, where there are 1811 monks and nuns - 925 in men, 886 in women (schemas - 31, mantle monastics - 1123, monastics - 377, who are on obedience - 280).

The clergy of Moscow consists of 1515 people: 19 bishops, 1115 priests and 381 deacons.

On November 26, 2013, a diocesan meeting was held in St. Petersburg. According to the report of the Secretary of the St. Petersburg diocese, Archpriest Sergiy Kuksevich, there are 195 parishes in the diocese (11 were opened in 2013), 126 ascribed churches, 22 monastery churches, 103 chapels (including monastic ones) and 6 prayer rooms, there are 4 monasteries - 2 male and women's. The clergy of the diocese are 4 bishops and 651 full-time clergy (498 priests, 153 deacons).

On December 23, 2013, Metropolitan Yuvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna delivered his annual report. According to him, at the end of 2013, there were 1,126 parishes and 24 monasteries in the Moscow diocese, where 1,430 clerics serve (1,320 priests and 110 deacons, 46 priests were ordained during the year). During the year 15 new parishes were formed. There are 1565 churches and 269 chapels in the diocese.

In the Moscow diocese there are 12 male and 12 female monasteries, as well as 7 farmsteads. In total, there are 244 inhabitants, in male monasteries - 68 people, in women's - 176.

On December 16, Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichug announced that the diocese has 60 parishes, 113 churches (90 of which are active), 13 prayer houses and prayer rooms, 32 chapels, 4 monasteries (2 male, 2 female), 140 clerics serve - 118 priests (64 white clergy, 54 monks) and 22 deacons (9 white clergy, 13 monks). In male monasteries there are 29 monks, in women's monasteries there are 162 monks.

At the meeting of the Ryazan diocese held on December 17, it was announced that there were 156 parishes (111 rural and 45 urban) and 7 monasteries (3 female and 4 male) in the diocese.

On December 23, 2013, Bishop Nikon (Fomin) announced that in the Shuya diocese there are 72 parishes, 135 churches (of which 93 are active), 42 monastery churches (of which 30 are active), 11 prayer houses and prayer rooms, 28 chapels. The diocese includes 4 male and 2 female monasteries. The number of clerics in the diocese is 136 priests and 45 deacons (85 priests and 37 deacons are monks, 10 widowed or celibate clergy). The number of supernumerary clerics and clerics at rest is 37. In male monasteries - 115 mantle monks, in women's monasteries and monastic communities - 83 nuns in a mantle and 16 nuns in cassocks.

On December 23, Metropolitan Sergiy of Voronezh and Borisoglebsk highlighted the situation in his diocese. According to him, there are 334 churches in the diocese, divine services are constantly (more than once a week) held in 226 of them, once a week - in 58, once a month in 44, less often - in 26. Together with prayer houses, ascribed and churches under construction in the diocese 412 places of worship. There are 413 clergymen in the diocese (375 priests, 38 deacons), 32 clergymen (9 priests and 2 deacons) were ordained during the year. In 6 monasteries (3 male and female monasteries, 128 monks labor (91 in female monasteries, of which 14 novices; 37 in male monasteries, of which 8 novices).

The meeting of the Mordovian diocese took place on December 13. Metropolitan Varsonofy of Saransk and Mordovia said that there are 168 churches in 15 deaneries of the diocese (18 were opened in 2013). They serve 191 clergy, 144 parish (including 8 deacons) and 43 monastic (including 6 hierodeacons).

At the annual meeting of the Kuznetsk diocese, Bishop Seraphim of Kuznetsk and Nikolsky announced that there are 108 parishes in the territory of the diocese, where 60 priests serve.

On December 25, 2013, the diocesan meeting was held in Smolensk. According to Isidore, Bishop of Smolensk and Vyazemsky, there are 158 churches and 8 monasteries (5 women's and 3 men's) in the diocese. The diocese has 148 priests (of which 22 are monastics), 15 deacons.

On December 14, at the annual meeting of the Khabarovsk diocese, it was reported that 76 parishes operate on its territory (at the end of 2012 there were 69), of which 36 were registered, 49 were churches (49 in 2012). They are cared for by 63 clergy (8 of them are deacons).
