Defenders of Malinovka Park in St. Petersburg appealed to the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
February 4, 2014 year it became known that the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation received an appeal an initiative group of residents of St. Petersburg opposed to the construction Temple in Malinovka Park. The letter states that the preservation of the park is supported by more than 20 thousand inhabitants of the city.
Commenting situation, member of the Civic Chamber Konstantin Mikhailov said: “ It is extremely important that local authorities, public organizations and the Civic Chamber of St. Petersburg be able to take on the role of mediator of this conflict and put both supporters and opponents of the construction of this facility at the negotiating table in order to discuss all its advantages together and cons and come to a compromise solution. It also happens that people's fears are not justified. Therefore, an open discussion is needed with the clarification of all the positive and negative points that the territory will receive from the construction of the [temple] complex .”
