Search as revenge for a dissertation

On February 5, 2014, a search and interrogation of Alexander took place in Moscow. Sokolov, postgraduate student of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

According to Sokolov, the search (passed with violations) was carried out as part of the investigation of the case according to part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code, initiated against an activist of the group "For a responsible power" (Call) Kirill Barabash, and he himself is a witness.

The case was initiated on the fact of posting a video with a speech on the Internet. Barabasha. The graduate student claims that he has nothing to do with the video.

According to Sokolov, an employee of the Center "E" told him, that the reason for the persecution was the calculation of the costs of the Olympics, carried out in his dissertation "The influence of rent-seeking behavior on investments of Russian state corporations" (defended in October 2013).

In addition, earlier Sokolov published a study on price exceedance during the construction of the Olympics. The study received wide publicity, including number abroad.
