It would be strange if the revival of punitive psychiatry in Russia were not accompanied by ideological justification and propaganda support. All violence needs a beautiful explanation, but as sophisticated as it is, even more so. And it did not force itself to wait long. A psychiatric reprisal against the "Prisoner of Bolotnaya" Mikhail Kosenko returned to the public life of one of the most violent conductors of punitive psychiatry - professor Fedor Kondratyev. This is just that substance that pops up by state necessity.

Let me remind you that Mikhail Kosenko with obvious falsifications of evidence and unfair forensic psychiatric examination of the Center named after Serbsky was sent to the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow for forced treatment in a general psychiatric hospital. The independent psychiatric association of Russia (NPA), headed by Dr. Yuri Savenko, made his defense.

He does not forget to turn the Soviet psychiatry along the way, claiming that there were no mass psychiatric persecution of dissidents. To lie by an order of magnitude or two is not a problem, well, but several dozen dissidents, of course, not count.

Accusing Savenko of tendency and slander, F.V. Kondratyev writes that "the outstanding figure of psychiatry, the hero of socialist labor Acad. A.V. Snezhnevsky is drawn in Savenko’s materials as an unprincipled careerist, anti -Semite, organizer and inspirer of punitive psychiatry." But did anyone still have doubts other than Andropov psychiatrists?

No, prof. Kondratyev is not defended by the Academician of Snezhnevsky, who is now responsible to another, much more important court, but himself, his punitive past and hopes for the same future for the servants of state psychiatry. Apparently, the services of punishers from psychiatry will soon be in demand again. The reprisal against Mikhail Kosenko is a demonstration of the determination of the authorities to use all the mechanisms of political repression. If the "PERA test" is successful, new psychiatry will follow this case of the political application of psychiatry. The excuses of psychiatric repression will probably be designed in the style of F.V. Kondratyeva - it is not by chance that he got out to the public with his revelations.
