At the end of February 2014, in the city of Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk region, a criminal case was opened under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code against local resident V. Tabachny, who was suspected of publishing several xenophobic materials on a social network. At the end of May 2014, a resolution was introduced to terminate the criminal case, but two days later it was canceled and the investigation continued. In July 2014, the case against Valentin Tabachny was again dropped, and a new one was started against his brother Yevgeny Tabachny.

The case was launched against local resident Valentin Tabachny, who is accused of publishing xenophobic materials on his page on the VKontakte social network.
It is reported that in August 2011 he published an anti-Caucasian commentary on the video “Rasul Mirzaev dealt a fatal blow”; in January 2012 he posted a video on his page “Russia for Russians! If you don’t believe me, watch it!!!”, and in January 2013 – the video “Stop Migration. For the visa regime!
In June 2014, it became known that on May 21, a decision was made to terminate the criminal case against V. Tabachny. However, this decision was appealed by the prosecutor and two days later the decision was canceled and the deadline for investigating the case was extended until July 16.
In July 2014, the criminal case against V. Tabachny was again discontinued. The investigation received information that the videos could have been published by the brother of the ex-suspect, Evgeniy Tabachny, who had access to the laptop. Now the charges under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code have already been presented to him.
