The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation discussed the problem of building new churches in the green zone of Moscow.
20th of March 2014 in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, hearings were held on the topic of development natural complex of Moscow. One of the topics discussed was the construction of new Orthodox churches in the parks and squares of the city (as part of the "Program-200") - in Novogireevo, Lefortovo, Golyanov, Kuzminkakh and Tekstilshchikakh.
The participants in the hearing drew the attention of members public chamber that they are not against temples, but " for the preservation of park areas and ask the planners to choose other places for the construction of temples .” In addition, outrage is caused by the fact that “ all projects were approved without prior broad public discussions ."
Based on the results of the hearings, it was decided to create under the Public chamber working group on the problems of preserving the green zone of Moscow in the context of the implementation of capital construction programs.
