According to the statement of the victims, " the attacker mistook them for representatives of non-traditional sexual orientation ."

The girls (with short hairstyles and unisex clothes) were traveling in a carriage from the Prospect Prosveshcheniya metro station to the Technological Institute. One of the men said that girls need to look like women in order to be treated accordingly. At the Sennaya Ploshchad metro station, a man threw one of the girls face-first into the glass of the car, knocked her down on the platform and sat on horseback. The second was also injured, but she ran after the unknown person up the escalator and reported the incident to the policeman. The attacker was arrested.

The girls went to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed one of the victims with a broken nose with suspected concussion, the second - damage to the temporo-zygomatic bone.

In the statements, the passenger was asked to initiate a criminal case under the article “intentional infliction of minor bodily harm out of hooligan motives and motivated by hatred against a social group.”
