In the Ulyanovsk region, a case regarding materials on a social network was brought to court

In early April 2014, in the Ulyanovsk region, a criminal investigation was completed against a local resident for posting photos and videos on a social network.

On April 7, 2014, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Ulyanovsk Region announced that the investigation of the criminal case against 24-year-old Vladimir Kuzin, accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred or enmity).

According to the investigation, in the period from 2010 to 2013, the defendant in the Zasviyazhsky district of the city of Ulyanovsk posted on the page he created in one of the social networks photo and video materials and texts "containing information aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, as well as degrading groups of persons on the basis of nationality, origin and attitude to religion.

The criminal case was sent to court for consideration on the merits.
