The Orlets case was closed

On April 29, 2014, the Orel Soviet Court dismissed the case on the recognition of materials from the Orlets website as extremist.

The prosecutor's office completely denied the claim. An examination conducted at the initiative of the court confirmed that there were no signs of extremism in the texts.

Recall that the case was initiated after the “Orthodox community” appealed to the FSB in the Oryol region, demanding “to check for the presence of a crime under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation” several materials published on the website (articles “Anthony”, “Kuksha”, “Panteleimon” , "Worship Crosses"). A philological examination commissioned by the UFSB by specialists from the Oryol State University found "statements of a hostile and/or pejorative nature in relation to persons of a certain confessional group, namely, representatives of the Orthodox faith."

Recall that we considered the claim of the prosecutor's office unlawful, and the expert study - performed at a low level (in particular, the associate professors of the OSU did not recognize the quotes not only from the "Tale of Bygone Years", which cited as evidence of the offensive nature of the site's materials, but also from the text of Archdeacon Andrei Kuraev.
