A criminal case has been opened in the city of Sochi for a video on a social network

On April 29, 2014, a criminal case was opened in the city of Sochi for a video posted on a social network.

In the Khostinsky district of Sochi, a criminal case has been initiated against a 29-year-old local resident suspected of posting a video file on a social network in November 2009, which had previously been recognized by the court as extremist.

It is not reported which video is in question, but it is said that it contains " statements aimed at humiliating the dignity of representatives of one of the nationalities, as well as containing religious intolerance ." The video is posted on the page of an open social network in the public domain.

On April 29, the investigators opened  criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred or enmity).
