On May 14, 2014, the Prosecutor's Office of the Rostov Region announced that the prosecutors of the Leninsky and Oktyabrsky districts of the city of Rostov-on-Don issued warnings to the chief editors of the resources "161.ru" and "Southern federal".
It is reported that the reason for this step was that both portal published two articles each, the information in which turned out to be unreliable. We are talking about the articles “In the Rostov region there was a massive fight: one person in a coma” and “Ukrainians are suspected of a raid on the Don farm Nizhnyaya Kovalevka" from the site "161.ru" and the articles "A military confrontation began on the Don between Cossacks and Chechens? and "In the Ust-Bystryanskaya village of the Rostov region there was a mass brawl: one person in a coma” from the Southern Federal portal.
All four articles reported on ethnic clashes, which, according to law enforcement agencies, did not exist in reality. The publication of unverified information in this area can lead to an aggravation environment.
All articles have already been removed from the sites.
