More than once, events in eastern Ukraine have been compared with the film "Wedding in Malinovka." Kitch, masquerade, sometimes just clowning. The proclamation of free republics, plenipotentiary atamans, justice on the go - in a word, a freemen. The only difference with the film is that events do not occur on the screen. And this is significant.
The film was a cheerful Soviet propaganda, but, apparently, it was it that was learned by the "heroes" of today's military rampant in Donetsk and Lugansk. They see themselves in the image of the heroes of the Civil War, the independent atamans, desperate red commanders and fair commissars who grew over time in responsible Soviet party workers.
Well, what is the dashing shirt, a cavalry wipe or a sailor tied with machine-gun ribbons will be bothering with trials, lawyers, appeals? Enemy? To the wall! And so he did in Slavyansk the "commander of the militia of the DPR" Igor Girkin (Strelkov) with his two accomplices - "company commander" Dmitry Slavov (Bulgarian) and "platoon commander" Nikolai Lukyanov (Luke). All these militias, companies, platoons are the same farce as the nicknames of their commanders.
Strelkov claims that the Bulgarians and Luke were shot "for looting, armed robbery, abduction of a person, leaving military positions and concealment of crimes committed." Who knows what was really there. Maybe they really looted, but crossed the border of the permitted. Maybe they didn’t share with anyone. Maybe they rebelled against his commander or threw in his place. And perhaps they simply fell under the arm of Strelkov, who wanted to play the role of a harsh, but fair warrior, a ruthless defender of folk interests.
The decision on the execution was issued on May 24 by the "military-field tribunal of the DPR militia" without any judicial procedure. But Strelkov seemed insufficient to pronounce the verdict, guided by revolutionary expediency and separatist legal awareness: he substantiated him with a reference to the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On Martial Profit" of June 22, 1941.
One can only guess what cockroaches live in the head of a person who refers in a sentence to a decree of 73 years ago, moreover, published in a state that has not existed for a long time. The conventionality of the rules and the inability to sufficiently substantiate their actions - a sign of the game, a fictional situation with unrealistic consequences. However, here, despite the game production, the consequences are the most real.
This happens in mentally ill: completely delusional motivation is combined with real, sometimes even thoughtful and cruel actions.
Here, however, is unlikely to be psychiatric. Strelkov exhumes Soviet laws to emphasize his ideological fidelity to the Soviet Union. Is it not for the rests of the Soviet Empire that he deprives the lives of other people and risks his own? There is logic in his actions. He so dreams of the Soviet past that he is already surrounding himself as non -existent Soviet laws and relies on them when pronouncing the sentence. This gesture is a beautiful gesture, as it seems to him. It may well be that those two shot Marauds were not at all to blame for anything, but simply became a ritual victim of the imagination of the "commander of the DPR militia."
To complete the picture, only a harsh commander’s instruction was not enough. And it followed. “I warn all the fighters and commanders of the DPR militia, as well as residents of the city of Slavyansk and the Slavic district that the above and other serious crimes committed in the zone of military operations will be punished decisively and mercilessly,” assured Girkin shooting girds.
The idea that in the zone of military operations justice is a gun in a commander’s holster is very popular among military people - decisive, despising someone else's life and stupid conventions of civilian life. However, the military zone in the Donetsk region exists only in the imagination of players such as the militia of the shooters, and for everyone else this is the territory of Ukraine, which is applied to the current Ukrainian criminal law. If Girkin lives before the trial, then he may be presented to him the evidence -based base - a documentary certificate of self -supplies and the murder of two people. By the way, on the territory of the state in which the death penalty is canceled.
The game of big policy is a contagious thing. It would be limited to the disputes of "picket vests", so no - the proclamation of states and the declaration of wars became a daily day in eastern Ukraine. The chairman of the "Lugansk People's Republic" Valery Bolotov declared war on the leadership of the "Donetsk People's Republic". Yesterday there were the Sanizer brothers, today-deadly enemies. The ease of decision -making is impressive. We must have time to play a lot, while there is still an opportunity.
Bolotov believes that the surrender of the city of the Ukrainian army is a crime of the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin against the Donetsk people. The “DPR leaders” turned out to be shameful cowards and traitors. To allow Donetsk to be cleared by the troops of the invaders - this is the crime of Pushilin and his people against the people of the Donetsk People’s Republic. This is a treasure, ”said Bolotov.
What a scope for self -affirmation! Firstly, you can introduce yourself with a talented military leader, to whom military defeats are unknown. Secondly, you can portray an unbending leader who punishes for any mistake in the most strict way. Bolotov says: "On the territory of the LPR, Denis Pushilin and his closest environment are considered traitors and persons of non grata. According to the laws of wartime, as traitors of their own people, they are subject to liquidation." This is such a cool Bolotov! And let everyone remember: the Lugansk is not a couple of Donetsk.
The game in the war does not always remain the lot of children and adult dreamers. Sometimes such games take real outlines. People are mentally unhealthy or politically irresponsible easily crossing the line that separates the game of imagination from real tragedy. They enthusiastically play life, which is accompanied by someone else's death.
