A curious detail: Girkin provided active assistance to supplying militants to Syria. A letter from August 2013, a certain friend of Igor Girkina consults with him about the “volunteer”: “Alexander Mukharev, commander of 2 RDO (Russian volunteer detachment) in Bosnia. He asked the volunteer to Syria to Marat, who asked me to contact you. "

Girkin's answer:

“It is difficult for me to recommend it or, conversely, not to recommend it. In recent years I have not seen him. The main thing is to keep him in the “hedgehog mittens” and warn in advance that “Yugoslavia-Yugoslavia, and here is a completely different song” and his ambitions (if they still remained with him) to keep it with them. ”

But that's not all. As it turns out, Girkin is involved in the PR campaign to whiten the image of the private military company Slavyansk Corps littered in Syria. In November 2013, the organizers of this PMC were arrested by the FSB, but before that Girkin tried to present their activities in a different light:

Once in the Crimea, Girkin became an “adviser to Aksenov” and was worried about the lack of some formal status:

After Girkin, along with his associates, captured Slavyansk, we will learn about his adventures not so much by correspondence as by telephone negotiations intercepted by the SBU. Girkin called another employee Marshallcapital, PRA Alexander Borodai, who recently became the “Prime Minister” of the DPR. A graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University Borodai loves to introduce herself as a “political scientist”, although in fact he always worked as a PR man. The beard participated and directly in the organization of hostilities, in a telephone conversation with Girkin, he informs: “A company will now advance to you from Lugansk. Those who with combat experience will be advanced. ” Obviously, however, that Beard himself was only a guide and intermediary, while the chief of Girkin and Strelkov, Konstantin Malofeev, was the main organizer and sponsorship of the separatist adventure.

Konstantin Malofeev - Orthodox raider

Konstantin Malofeev began his career as a lawyer in Renaissance Capital, then became an investment banker, worked at the MDM bank and other financial companies. In 2005, he founded the Marshall Capital Partners investment fund (managing partner), together with his partners. During his career, Malofeev appeared at once in several scandals related to raiding and fraud.

At the end of 2012 - early 2013, law enforcement agencies conducted searches in the house of Konstantin Malofeev and the Marshal of Capital office in connection with the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under Art. 159 h. 4 (fraud) on theft of VTB Bank more than $ 200 million. VTB accused Malofeev of not repaying a loan provided by Russagropom for the purchase of Nutratek in 2007 (its largest shareholder was Marshall at that time). Malofeev sued VTB in London: the bank lost the bank, and in February this year the parties concluded a settlement agreement. As a result, the VTB complaint in the Ministry of Internal Affairs was also withdrawn.

A scandal also came out with Nutratek with the Nutratek company. Once upon a time, Nutritek, one of the largest manufacturers of baby food, is owned by 75% Marshall Capital-was a very successful company, but in July 2010, a lawsuit was filed with the bankrupt to declare it bankrupt in July 2010. Foreign shareholders openly accused Nutratek of tagging financial statements and connivance of embezzlement. According to the Kommersant newspaper, these are difficult co -owners: the Inter IKEA Foundation, which manages the ICEA Family Family, the founder of IKEA, the French Aha Private Equity Foundation, the American Paul Capital Partners and Lexington Capital Partners. Finally, the media accused Malofeev of the fact that his “Orthodox business” - including the Orthodox gymnasium built by him, is just a tool for laundering money.

The means earned in such extravagant methods, Malofeev directed to support the intervention in Ukraine. Some funds crossed openly, under the guise of charity.

Influential friends. Malofeev and Sergey Ivanov

It is difficult to imagine that Konstantin Malofeev acted in Ukraine at his own peril and risk without coordination with the presidential administration. And apparently, this connection is still there, since the youngest son of the head of the AP Sergey Ivanov, who worked in Gazprombank, once bought up the Rostelecom shares-as reported , in the interests of Marshal Capital and from the knowledge of Sergei Ivanov Sr.. According to The Insider, Sergei Ivanov and Konstantin Malofeev also communicated on the “religious” line (including, through their common acquaintance, the father of Tikhon, Putin’s personal confessor).

Another line of communication of Malofeev with the current head of the presidential administration Ivanov is Prince Alexander Trubetskoy. At one time, it was the Bloc of the Government, which oversaw Ivanov nominated for Trubetskoy to the post of chairman of the Board of Directors of Svyazinvest (the largest shareholder of Rostelecom). And Ivanov himself, in an interview with the newspaper Kommersant, openly praised Trubetskoy. The prince also confirms his acquaintance with Malofeev: “With Malofeev, as well as with Minister Schegolev, relations have developed due to conversations on the themes of the Orthodox Church,” says the Trubetsk newspaper Vedomosti. “They are very close to Father Tikhon.” And this played a role. In addition, Konstantin Malofeev, as a businessman,, according to Svyazinvest, shared with me his thoughts and, I hope, will give his recommendations in the future. But the main thing is that I know him as a true Russian Orthodox patriot. ”

There may be several scenarios of interaction between Malofeev and the administration. One of the most likely is the direct use of Malofeev resources for warfare without the use of the official Armed Forces of Russia. It is known that Malofeev used to participate in Sybiosis with the authorities, when his “Safe Internet League” became one of the main initiators of laws on censorship on the Internet, thereby presenting these laws as emanating from civil society. In the case of Ukraine, Malofeev provides a service, allowing the authorities to say that a separatist initiative comes from some "militias". At the same time, the authorities have instruments of influence on Malofeev, on which a criminal case is already hanging. Having already been under arrest, he, obviously, was very accommodating.
