On May 29, 2014, it became known that Ivan Moseev was suing Sberbank due to the blocking of a bank card.
Recall, the head of the association of Pomors of the Arkhangelsk region Ivan Moseev March 2013 was sentenced by Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk for hours. 1 Article. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) to a fine.
Sberbank is still at the stage of trial in the Moseev case temporarily blocked his card, referring to a technical failure, and after issuing the verdict blocked her completely, explaining this measure by the fact that Moseev was included in the so-called "Rosfinmonitoring list" - a list of organizations and persons involved in a terrorist or extremist activities.
However, in March 2013, a law requiring the blocking of accounts of individuals and organizations included in the list of Rosfinmonitoring have not yet been accepted, so the bank had to monitor the status of Moseev's accounts, but did not have the right to arbitrarily block them.
Having found out through the court that the bank acted on its own discretion, Moseev managed to achieve a withdrawal of 50 thousand rubles from the account. However However, the activist filed a lawsuit against Sberbank with demanding compensation for damages of 100 thousand rubles.
Next hearing on the case will take place on June 10th.
Recall, from our point of view, Moseev's verdict was unlawful. In addition, we consider a severe limitation on financial transactions for persons involved in the Rosfinmonitoring list of unjustified measure.
