The investigation into the case of anti-Semitic vandalism in Syktyvkar has been completed

In Syktyvkar, the case of a local resident accused of in the desecration of the Jewish Cultural Center.

On June 19, 2014, the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Komi Republic announced completion of the investigation of the criminal case against the 29-year-old local resident. He is charged under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred) and Part. 2 tbsp. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (vandalism).

According to the investigation, the accused in October 2013 left insulting inscription and the image of a swastika on the wall of the Jewish cultural center in Syktyvkar.

The case was referred to the court for consideration on the merits.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.
