A verdict was handed down in Moscow in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case

The Moscow City Court issued a verdict against Timur Malsagov (born 1970), accused of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.

On June 21, 2014, it became known that on April 14, 2014, the Moscow City Court passed a sentence against Timur Malsagov (born 1970), accused of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.

A citizen of Uzbekistan was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization) and Part 1 of Art. 30 and Art. 278 of the Criminal Code (attempt to seize power by force) and sentenced to 4 years of probation.

According to investigators, he " participated in the preparation and holding of meetings of a banned organization that took place in various residential premises in Moscow" and, together with others, " was preparing for a violent seizure of power and a violent change in the constitutional order of the Russian Federation by organizing the activities of cells, finding weapons and coordinating the activities of participants terrorist organization . "

The verdict entered into force on April 25, 2014.

Recall that T. Malsagov was detained along with other suspects of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir in November 2012 in Moscow.

From our point of view, accusing Hizb ut-Tahrir supporters of preparing to seize power on the basis of their party activity (holding meetings, distributing literature, etc.) is unjustified.
