In June 2014, Nizhny Novgorod police twice removed banners about the events in Donbass from the balcony, which had been hung up by a Nizhny Novgorod activist.
At the beginning of June 2014, a public activist from Nizhny Novgorod Herman Knyazev hung a banner on the balcony with the inscription "Lord, deliver Donbass from demons and shooters" against the background of the national flag of Ukraine.
The next day, June 6, 2014, the banner was dismantled police officers and sent for examination, which, according to Knyazev, was designed to determine whether the text of the banner contains advertising and whether it is seen in the image of the flag Ukrainian extremism.
June 9, 2014 Knyazev, who decided that for the examination seized item enough, hung on the balcony of the next same banner. Through for a short time, a brigade from the 5th police department arrived at the scene Nizhny Novgorod and invited the activist to voluntarily remove the banner and hand it over to the police.
The actions of the police seem to us unlawful. To check for " extremism" and any other check, one copy of the banner is sufficient.
