Another sociological survey. The situation does not change much years: the majority of the population considers themselves Orthodox, but most of the churches does not visit them.
On July 3, 2014, the Public Opinion Foundation published the results of the poll "Orthodox Churchness". According to sociologists, since 1997 the number of those who themselves to the Orthodox increased from 52% to 68%.
At the same time, the share of those who visit the temple once a month or more is almost did not increase: 11% (in 2000 there were 9%). The proportion has also changed slightly. attending the temple once or twice a year: 24% versus 27% in 2000.
The majority of those who called themselves Orthodox, 61% never commune (in 2000 - 64%), commune once a month and more often 2% (in 2000 - 1%).
All major fasts, including one-day fasts on Wednesdays and Fridays observed by less than 1% of the respondents. 79% practically do not observe fasts (in 2000 - 80%), Lent tries to keep 11% (in 2000 - 9%).
