A protest action took place in Novosibirsk, the participants of which demanded an investigation into the cancellation of concerts under pressure from the Orthodox and ensure the protection of constitutional freedoms.
On July 22, 2014, it became known that a rally against the disruption of rock concerts at the request of the Orthodox. Organizer shares became the director of the agency "Siberian Tours" Viktor Zakharenko, whose agency was preparing a recently canceled Marilyn Manson concert.
About 300 people took part in the rally. Some of they were holding posters: “This city listens to rock”, “We have a free city”, “On place of Manson can be anyone”, “Everyone should have a choice”, “Russian The Federation is a secular state .
Among the speakers were the Deputy Chairman of the Youth Department of the Yabloko Party Olesya Valger and Deputy Mayor of Novosibirsk Ivan Starikov, declared the need to confront marginalized groups in the political space.
V. Zakharchenko promised the audience to still hold a concert Marilyn Manson in the coming years.
"I'm here because I love rock music and I'm outraged the fact that under the guise of religion, people allow themselves to dictate to others what to do, how to live and where to go. The participants of the action collected signatures under the resolution with the demand for the protection of constitutional freedoms, the principle of secularism of the state, the creation social movement to control the authorities, and to hold check on the facts of failures of rock concerts in Novosibirsk.
