On July 24, 2014, the Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok upheld the sentence of the Other Russia activist Igor Popov. In October 2013, Popov was found guilty by the same court under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting social hatred) and part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization), sentenced to a fine of 50 thousand rubles and exempted from paying a fine due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

Popov, however, was not satisfied with the option of dismissing the case on non-rehabilitating grounds, and he repeatedly appealed his case. Now he plans to file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.

We also recall that we do not consider it lawful to prosecute the Other Russia activists for participating in the activities of the NBP, since they belong to another organization, and besides, the ban on the NBP for extremism was illegal.
