Residents of the Pechora village of Mitkovitsy built a temple almost from scratch. In the village of Mitkovitsy, Pechora District, the grand opening of the temple took place. It was built almost from scratch by the locals themselves. Even before the war, the temple of Elijah the Prophet stood here, but, according to various sources, it was either burned down or a German shell hit it. The village stood without a temple for more than half a century. But two years ago, the enterprising residents of Mitkovice decided to rebuild it. Even residents of neighboring villages and pupils of the Pechora orphanage took part in the construction of the temple. The dome, cross and decoration of the church, including the iconostasis, are a gift from the Pskov-Caves Monastery. Recall that on July 30, 2011, at the 425th anniversary of the village of Mitkovitsy, it was decided to restore the chapel on the old foundation.
