In Karelia, the case of an attack on Armenian citizens was brought to court

In early August 2014, a case against a local resident for attacking Armenian citizens was sent to court in Sortavala.
In early August 2014, the prosecutor of the city of Sortavala approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 42-year-old local resident.

He is charged under paragraph "b" part 2 of Art. 116 of the Criminal Code (beating that caused physical pain, committed for the motive of national hatred).

The investigation established that in February 2014, the defendant, while intoxicated, beat two citizens of Armenia.

The criminal case was sent for consideration on the merits to the Magistrate's Court.
