In early August 2014, a court in Borovichi passed a sentence for a xenophobic video posted on a social network.
The Borovichi District Court issued a guilty verdict in the criminal case against Anton Yekimov. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity).
The court established that on October 8, 2012, Yekimov posted a video file on his page on the social network VKontakte, which, according to the conclusion of a linguistic study, " contains facts indicating a negative assessment of a group of persons on the basis of nationality, origin, attitude to religion; negative information about actions of representatives of certain nationalities; facts containing a positive assessment of hostile actions on the grounds of attitude to religion, by belonging to any social group; motives and calls for hostile actions .
The defendant admitted his guilt in full.
By a court verdict, Ekimov was sentenced to 180 hours of compulsory labor.
