In Chelyabinsk referred to the court for consideration on the merits the case of six local residents accused of creating a Hizb ut-Tahrir cell.
August 22, 2014 Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chelyabinsk region announced the completion of the investigation into the case about involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Six local residents are charged under part-time. 1, 2 art. 282.2 CC RF (organization and participation in the activities of an extremist organization).
According to the investigation, 35-year-old Valery Khabirov in 2013 organized on the territory of the region, a Hizb ut-Tahrir cell and attracted more several people.
Earlier it was reported that the residents of Chelyabinsk are being charged under Part. 1, 2 art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as human dignity) - for the dissemination Hizb ut-Tahrir leaflets and hanging banners with a quote from the Koran and posters in protest against the attempt to ban the Koran in the translation of Elmir Kuliyev. We considered charges under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code for protesting against the ban on the Koran as unlawful, however, these charges are apparently dropped, and the case is reclassified.
