Tolyatti: Internet user detained for inciting hatred on social network

In mid-September 2014, a 25-year-old local resident was detained in Togliatti, Samara Region, on suspicion of inciting ethnic hatred.

Employees of the Center "E" of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Samara Region identified and detained a 25-year-old young man suspected of posting xenophobic materials on the Internet.

Recall that police officers found on the page of one of the users of the social network audio, video and graphic images, "calling for the implementation of extremist activities." The police found that the user of the page is an unemployed 25-year-old resident of the city of Tolyatti.

He was detained by operatives. Employees of the internal affairs bodies found that the Internet user "promotes pagan traditions and symbols, supports football hooligans."

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting ethnic hatred).
